Keeping You Safe
We are taking additional measures to ensure the health and safety of our patients and staff while our office remains open.
As you know, Los Angeles Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery has continued to treat emergency cases during this unprecedented time. We are grateful for the support and understanding from our community, and at this time, we are excited to announce that we are resuming all procedures, both emergency and elective. We are a JCAHO-accredited surgical center and have always adhered to and exceeded the protocol for infection control.
As physicians, it’s our goal to ensure the health and safety of our patients, and we do so by analyzing the risks and benefits of any procedure. This enables us to prioritize our services and delegate our care where it is needed most. Our patients are in safe hands, and we look forward to continuing to care for them in a clean and healthy environment.
Universal precautions that we will continue to follow, as outlined by the CDC, include:
- Wearing personal protective gear (gowns, gloves, N95 masks, and face shields).
- Using hospital-grade disinfectants to clean each treatment room before and after each patient.
- Practicing the latest in sterilization protocols.
All surgeries are performed in the operating room that is accredited by The Joint Commission, which maintains the strictest guidelines for cleanliness and sanitation. We have implemented some additional measures in our office in accordance with the most recent CDC guidelines.
These additional measures include:
- Pre-screening patients before appointments.
- Closing our waiting room and removing commonly touched items, such as magazines and remotes.
- Limiting the number of people attending a single appointment.
- Asking patients to wash their hands upon entering the building.
Additionally, we are using the FDA-approved UV-C The Light Force’s Model A germicidal sanitizer. It is a mobile, self-contained device that uses ultraviolet radiation technology to kill bacteria, viruses, and pathogens on surfaces and in the air. Specially designed to disinfect medical settings, this device ensures optimal efficiency when sanitizing our surgical areas.
The safety and health of our patients and our staff remain our top priorities. It is a privilege to care for your patients. If you have any questions about these measures, please feel free to contact our office: (310) 842-4811.
