Patients who are missing a majority or all of their teeth may be able to undergo full-arch restoration at our office in Los Angeles. Full-arch restoration is designed to restore many teeth at once with the help of dental implants. It’s more cost effective than receiving individual dental implants but still provides patients with all the same benefits.

Full-arch restoration uses as little as four dental implants as a base for a permanent denture. Once the denture has been attached to the implants, your oral function and smile will return to normal. We encourage you to schedule a consultation appointment at our oral surgery office to learn more about this revolutionary treatment.

Benefits of Full-Arch Restoration

Many patients who suffer from major tooth loss either don’t know about full-arch restoration or don’t realize why it’s beneficial over other tooth replacement options. Unlike traditional (removable) dentures and tooth-supported bridges, a full-arch restoration is permanent. Once your dentures have been attached to the implants, you won’t have to worry about replacing them after a few years of wear and tear. Some of the biggest benefits of a full-arch restoration include the following:

  • Your new teeth will look exactly like natural teeth. Your restorative dentist custom designs your new arch of teeth to your specifications to ensure that you can feel completely confident in your smile.
  • You will regain total oral function. Not only will your new teeth look natural, but they will also function naturally. With your permanent denture, you can eat all the foods you love without worrying about it slipping or falling out.
  • The denture does not require special care. In addition to functioning like natural teeth, your full-arch restoration system can also be treated like natural teeth. The only care required to keep these new teeth healthy is regular brushing and flossing.
  • Your jaw bone will remain healthy. When teeth are missing, your jaw bone loses the stimulation it needs to stay healthy, causing it to atrophy. Because full-arch restoration utilizes dental implants, which integrate with the jaw, you will not have to worry about your jaw bone deteriorating.

If you are a candidate for full-arch restoration, we encourage you to visit our office in Los Angeles, CA. Our doctors can examine your condition and develop a treatment plan to fit your tooth restoration needs.

Full-Arch Restoration Procedure

One of the greatest advantages of a full-arch restoration is that our doctors can perform the procedure in just one surgical appointment. You will first visit our office for your consultation, where your oral surgeon will examine your mouth, review your health history, and take any necessary X-rays or 3D scans. Once we have determined the best course of treatment, we will schedule your surgical appointment and send you home with instructions for pre- and post-operative care.

When you return for your surgery, we will administer the form of anesthesia chosen by you at your consultation. Then, your doctor will strategically place as little as four dental implants in your jaw. If you have any teeth remaining in the jaw, we will remove those before placing the implants. Any extractions can often be performed the same day as the full-arch restoration. Once the implants have been placed, we will stitch up your gums and in most cases, attach your temporary dentures. This allows you to begin using your new teeth and smile right away.

Over the next few months, your implants will integrate with your jaw, and your restorative dentist will create your custom-designed permanent denture. Once the surgical sites have healed, you will return to our office and have the permanent denture attached to the implants. Your new teeth will have you smiling with confidence and eating all the foods you love as soon as you leave our office.
